If you’ve been keeping an eye on India’s electric mobility market, July 2025 brought a mixed bag of news. While some brands saw impressive growth, others struggled to keep up with last year’s pace. Overall, 1,02,973 electric two-wheelers were sold in July 2025, marking a 4.25% dip compared to July 2024.
Leaders in the EV Race
TVS Motor Company held the top spot, selling 22,256 units, which is 13.23% higher than last year’s numbers. Close behind was Bajaj Auto with 19,683 units sold, showing a solid 10.80% year-on-year increase.
Both brands have managed to keep their lead over newer EV-focused companies, thanks to a steady product lineup and consistent dealer network expansion.

Market Outlook
The July 2025 numbers show that legacy brands like TVS, Bajaj, and Hero are gaining ground in the EV space, while some earlier leaders are losing momentum. Despite the slight overall dip in sales, the long-term trend for electric two-wheelers in India remains positive, with new product launches and government incentives likely to boost adoption.
If you’re planning to buy an EV, this could be a good time to watch for festive season discounts and updated models with better range and features.
